For the last several decades there has been an increasing inverse relationship between public political discourse and corporate power, peaking in the immediate time period after 9/11 tragedy. All the meanwhile religious movement has been gaining strength, financial backing and political power. This correlation is not incidental. Corporate power is highly concentrated in too few private hands and its power is undermined by populous social movements seeking real political change. Therefore, it is in the corporate interest to keep the unaware public naive, distracted and disinterested in national and international affairs. This function is well served by daily TV reality shows, pop news and etc. Additionally, contemporary religious movement has been eagerly aided by corporate power because it tends marginalize the public by distracting it from real issues that affect an overwhelming majority of the population, such as health-care concerns, workers’ rights, environment, civil liberties, foreign policy and etc. Instead religious movement has directed its energy and focus towards issues that affect a tiny fraction of the population, such as gay marriage, abortions, stm cell research and religion in public square. And amid all this, the public has been effectively quarantined from the real world while the elite class is working hard every day to profit from this phenomenon and gain more power.

Consequently, the mainstream news media has conveniently adopted a model whose function is to discourage public participation in politics primarily by two ways: reporting on issues that affect a very narrow sector of the population - the elite class, and to distract the public from real national and international concerns by reporting on sensationalism - missing women, Paris Hilton, meaningless quotes from politicians and so on. While intentions are hard to analyze, the consequence is that the real important national and international news are missing from the mainstream media. Hence, the mission of this website is to fill the void in mainstream news by turning people’s attention to news that matter, issues that are of concern and to politics of social change and reform. This is especially crucial in the post 9/11 America where the politicians have profited enormously by seizing on an opportunity to exploit the tragedy for pure political gain and power. As a result, democracy has been rendered an empty rhetoric as democratic institutions have become virtually unresponsive to the desires of majority of the population. However, there comes a time when all “good” things come to an end…

In the years ahead, I hope to provide a more meaningful analysis and interpretation of domestic and foreign affairs and the geopolitics behind the scenes.
